Hi everybody
I hope you have had a fantastic christmas and a great New Year !!
In this post I will show you the Finish website wreckamovie.com, which is an interesting collaborative film production platform.
Wreckamovie.com is a place where anybody can come and set up their own film production, and find a community to collaborate on, or find an interesting film productions and become a collaborator. It helps get films done faster and at a considerably lower cost through crowd-sourced work on production tasks and online resourcing of expertise and corporate funding.
Take a closer look at the site and see how it works. I think it’s very interesting in the perspective of low-budget productions, funding and viral social marketing.
Here is a short interview with Peter Vesterbacka one of the founders of wreckamovie.com

In November I was in Oklahoma to the annual Creativity World Forum Conference, which is a part of the “Districts of Creativity”.
One of the keyspeakers was Pranav Mistry, who is a Research Assistant and Ph.D candidate at the MIT Media Lab. He talked about his work developing the very interesting concept of “SixthSense”, which is a wearable gestural interface that augments the physical world around us with digital information and lets us use natural hand gestures to interact with that information. I think the concept gives a lot of possibilities in the context of the Cross Media world.
The SixthSense prototype is comprised of a pocket projector, a mirror and a camera. The hardware components are coupled in a pendant like mobile wearable device. Both the projector and the camera are connected to the mobile computing device in the user’s pocket. The projector projects visual information enabling surfaces, walls and physical objects around us to be used as interfaces; while the camera recognizes and tracks user’s hand gestures and physical objects using computer-vision based techniques.
The software program processes the video stream data captured by the camera and tracks the locations of the colored markers (visual tracking fiducials) at the tip of the user’s fingers using simple computer-vision techniques. The movements and arrangements of these fiducials are interpreted into gestures that act as interaction instructions for the projected application interfaces. The maximum number of tracked fingers is only constrained by the number of unique fiducials, thus SixthSense also supports multi-touch and multi-user interaction.

EUROSTARS (http://www.eurostars-eureka.eu/)
R4SME (http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/capacities/research-sme_en.html)
FET for SMEs (http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/ict/fet-open/high-tech-sme_en.html)

Du kan bladre online i projektkataloget her.

Invitation to The Innovation Workshop 2010:
“The digitization creates headache for some – for others it creates unpresidented market oportunities. It all depends on what way one choose to look….”
The goal for this workshop is to bring us up to date on what is happening in the area of digital content distribution, to help the industry to see new market oportunities and to equip the con- tent creators to seize them! We are inviting key people within film, gaming and distibution industries in Southern Norway and Denmark, as well as Latvia and Germany, to join with us for one full day of learning and trying to look into the future together.
The speakers:
Asta Wellejus is a dynamic woman with years of experience from both film and gaming industry. Recent years she has been preocupied with projects in the border line between conventional film and gaming. She is an insight- ful and inspirational speaker that emphasizes the importance of bringing tecnology and human interaction closer together.
Reidar Jortveit is a purist when it comes to digital content. Even in his childhood he had the urge to pick apart devices to understand how they work. Later in life he has been trying to understand the coherrence between tecno- logical innovation and end user dynamics. He has a background as an entrepreneur and developer of interactive role plays and educational programs.
This workshop is a cooperation between the Southern Norwegian association for the digital content makers Digin, The film cluster Filmby Århus, Alexandra Institute in Århus and the Cross Media cluster in Jutland, Denmark and First Motion, a project within the Baltic Sea Region Interreg program of European Union.
